Please read this page, in its entirety, if interested in joining the Palisades Park Community Club and obtaining access to our lake easement. If questions remain, please contact the Membership Director at [email protected] for clarification.
Who can join?
By Lake Oswego Corp. (LOC) rules, eligibility to join the Club is limited to residents of the Palisades Park Community Club easement area, as defined by LOC and summarized on a plat map on their web site. Prospective members are responsible for checking with LOC to definitively determine that their home is included in the easement area. Contact information for the Lake Corp and additional information about easements in general.
We recommend that you also confirm, with LOC, the amount of the annual fees that they require be paid to LOC by members of all easements on the Lake, and the process for paying these fees. They must be paid when joining our Club, in addition to our Club fees, and every year thereafter. Because all rack space and boat slips at the easement are currently full, and are likely to be for the foreseeable future, we highly recommend that you ask the LOC about their "day use" option and details on what is required to put-in at the boat ramp, boat decontamination, and any other information related to your use of a boat on Oswego Lake.

Is the Club right for me and my family?
Extensive investment in renovations in 2013 restored access to our easement after several years of inaccessibility caused by deterioration of a very rough and steep access trail and wooden stairs which, while described as a superlative Lake Oswego wilderness experience, ultimately became impassible. Access today is provided by 235 aluminum stairs that descend nearly 200 feet to the lakefront. Due to the unusual topography at our waterfront location, there is no beach; however, there is a deck and dock area, two benches, and a swim ladder, and a picnic table. Before committing to join the PPCC and sending in payments to PPCC and Lake Corp, we advise that you visit the easement. Please contact our Membership Director to arrange a visit to our waterfront area to see the facilities and to assess whether Club membership is a good fit for you. Prospective members should also familiarize themselves with the PPCC bylaws and LOC rules.
Fees
- New members pay a one-time $2,500 PPCC initiation fee along with the annual PPCC easement dues of $225. These fees are used to make repayments of the considerable debt incurred for the new easement infrastructure, for capital improvements, Club dues to LOC, insurance and other operating expenses.
- All boat slips and kayak/canoe/paddle board rack spaces at the easement are full; however, families can request that they be added to wait-lists for these facilities after they have paid PPCC initiation fees and annual dues. When your turn comes up, additional fees for these facilities will apply (currently $100 per year for kayak/canoe rack space, $50/yr for paddleboard rack space, and $500/yr for a boat slip).
- LOC charges different membership fees depending on whether you will be using a power boat or paddle craft. As of 2020, an LOC membership is $1305 per year for power boat members and $190 per year for paddle craft and swim-only. LOC may adjust their fee structure at any time without notice.
The 7-step process for joining PPCC
- Confirm with LOC that you are eligible to join the PPCC easement.
- Read and understand the PPPC bylaws, on the Club Rules page of this web site, and the LOC rules and regulations and LOC Easement Guide for New Members. Additional useful information is provided by LOC at their web site and a copy of their rules can also be picked up at the marina.
- Participate in an easement tour to confirm that membership makes sense for your family.
- Print and sign the Acknowledgement of Club and Lake Corp Rules and Bylaws described in Step 2. You will submit this with the payment of membership fees to PPCC.
- To activate your PPCC easement membership, you will need to pay the initiation fee of $2,500 and the annual dues of $225. Please submit your payment via credit card at the web site: www.eregisterexpress.com/register/ppcc/2022 (the year within this URL will increment by one each year).
- Complete the LOC Application form for Lake Users, available from the LOC "Joining an Easement" page, and submit this, along with the LOC membership dues, to the LOC office (Christina Bailey is the LOC contact). When renewing, there is an online process for the annual LOC fee.
- Once the LOC confirms that both the PPCC easement fees and dues and the LOC membership dues have been paid, the LOC will issue tags (if you plan to use the LOC boat ramp to access the lake while on the waiting lists) and the PPCC will issue you a key to the easement gate. Please let us know on which boat storage waitlists you would like your family added, but realize that it may be several years until a slot is available for your family.
